Paloma Picasso is the daughter of artists Pablo Picasso and Francoise Gilot. Paloma was featured in many of her father's paintings during her childhood, and she grew up reluctant to be involved in the creative arts, although she did study jewelry design.
She designed jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent and for Zolotas, but then stopped altogether. After her father's death, she became a set designer for Rafael Lopez-Sanchez, who she eventually married. In 1980, Picasso began designing jewelry for Tiffany & Co. Among her trademarks are gold and silver "hugs and kisses" (X's and O's).
She expanded during the 1980s into the production of perfumes, and then into ladies' accessories. She now also creates in the field of home design, from bath and body products to furnishings.
Picasso now lives in Switzerland.
