The design house Rena Lange was created by Martha Lange as a lingerie boutique in Munich, Germany in 1916. The store was destroyed during World War II, but her nephew Peter Gunthert reestablished it as a ready-to-wear line in 1953.
He brought his wife Renate Gunthert on board as a designer in 1963, and in 1990 the line was renamed Rena Lange. In 2002, they passed control to their son Daniel Gunthert.
The Rena Lange boutique in Munich is located on the site of the original Lange boutique.
Rena Lange launched footwear and accessories collections in recent years.
