"I can find any woman a Ghost outfit that will make her look wonderful. Guaranteed, any shape, any size, any age." Tanya Sarne
Tanya Sarne founded Ghost in 1984. Sarne had no fashion training, and regularly worked with a team of designers, inspiring her to refer to the line as "ghost-written" and to name it Ghost. Ghost is known for its fine viscose fabrics, which are painstakingly dyed and shrunk repeatedly for deep colors, and then assembled into loose, flowing clothing. Ghost expanded beyond its U.K. roots to become a worldwide brand during the 1990s.
They began a fragrance line in 2000. Sarne sold a controlling interest in the company in 2005, and left in 2006. Ghost's head designer, Amy Roberts, left the same year, and the line became inactive.
